Manic phase

I'm currently having a manic phase. I was just wondering, does anyone else get this when something exciting is going to happen? Like a trigger? I'm going to a spa for the night tomorrow (well today actually coz I'm still wide awake with the insomnia) and I'm not sure if it is just excitement or manic. I was going through depression, pretty badly, for about 2 weeks there and now it's like I'm invincible!! Iv never kept track of my moods and I'm unsure of my triggers. Just wondering if anyone else's triggers may be something exciting and new happening in your life? Also, I get the feeling I'm going to slip back into depression once it's all over :/ any ideas? Xxx

Thank you. Yes I'm convinced I have rapid cycles as from time to time I can be manic and then straight back down again. It's very frustrating :/

Yes when I am rapid cycling anything that can create emotional reactions can trigger manic episodes. However during those times I naturally go from manic to depessed in a short time fame (sometimes during a day) and I try to keep track of when this might happen and let my psychiatrist know. Duing times of stability I can enjoy life without things triggering mood episodes but these concens can come back from time to time.
