Medication Effect on Eyes

Just curious, has anyone found that their medication has an effect on either their eyesight or the pressure in your eyes?  Went to the eye doc and both distance and close up perscriptions have changes.  also had very high pressures in my eyes.  did not have these issues before taking all these medications.  I'm wonderng if this is a side effect of medication...or me just getting older. :)

Yes, my meds have given me some really weird eyesight side effects. I especially noticed a blurring of vision with Geodon like paranoid_cataclysm, and Lamictal seems to do the same thing when I increase my dosage. It's irritating, because it makes me feel very foggy and out of touch with the world. I was scared that my eyesight was getting drastically worse on its own, but then I realized that these side effects can occur.

Yes he's right about all of that.  On geodon some days my vision was blurrier than other days but I also have astigmatism so my vision is randomly blurry anyway.  After coming off geodon and switching to another med, my double vision came back and hasn't remitted yet but now I have glasses so I'm hoping it's just caused from eye strain from having double vision and far sightedness and not using glasses all these years.

It can be. Sometimes medications can cause a person's pupils to be dilated so that there is a change in vision. That has happenned to me many times. That generally is not of concern. Any change in pressure would be of concern whether it is caused by medication or not. That should be further discussed with a doctor to find out the specific cause.
