HI hun what country are you from?
There are a variety of support groups listed online but one reliable agency is NAMI and you can google their name and your state. They have support groups for both adults and teens and family support groups as well and also should be able to give appropriate referrals including to anyone who would be calling on your behalf as to where to seek help. There are also crisis hotlines (those are separate agencies and are generally nationwide numbers or state wide) if you need to speak to someone immediately. I support the advice the other poster's gave and the best thing to do is speak to someone you trust who can help but there are also resources for support groups in the area you live.
When some people reach the ages of 12-14 they go through a change. Sometimes this change brings depression, sometimes it brings anger, and sometimes in brings fear. There are numbers you can call, and also support groups that have people who are going through the same thing.
I am not knocking pandamans advice, and with certain people, medication can help. However, I would strongly urge you to first try the support groups, therapist, and school councerlor before asking for medications. Very often, issues such as depression can be controlled without medications. The problem with medications is if you don't need them and therapy/group support can help the problem, is you become dependent on them. Soon, you need to take the medication/s and depression has nothing to do with it. Medications can turn you into a slave, where you either live for it, and spend all of your time thinking about them. As I said, a certain small amount of people NEED them, so please (no offense to pandamans) try therapy and other such methods first.
I don't have a number for you right now, but this site has the depression support groups and if you do a quick search online, you should be able to find some. In fact, there most likely will be people answering your post later and they could have numbers for you.
Just hang in there and remember, it's probably a natural thing and because of hormones that you are now feeling like this. If it's from this, then it's something you can overcome.
Please keep us posted.
Depression is awful but with meds it can go away. Trust me i am proof. Call your doctor and they will give you meds and info to a counselor who will talk you through this. Nobody should laugh as it is serious and you can be free if you get help from your doctor. God Bless!
