wow , that's some medication , over the last 10 years i've been on quiet a lot too but for the first 5 year's or so it was mainly anti-depressants and the odd anti psychotic , but they had no odea what they were treating back then, it's only been the last few years i got diagnosed properly ,but they are still not 100% sure about the Bi polar / with psychotic features or Schizoaffective , which is what they call it for now , i don't think there's a whole lot of difference between the 2 though . Anyway's enough about me , have you ever been on Abilify ,or Zyprexa both are anti psychotic's and are normally pretty good with alot of people , only trouble is the Zyprexa can make you want to eat and eat , and can cause weight gain and my GF is on Abilify and doing well but it make's you a little energised so best to take in morning .
I really hope you find the right med's man , i know how frustrating and pain enduring it is , you start to feel like a lab rat huh , good luck
That's great,
I don't have a whole lott of stability but I appreciate the days that I do. I have been in treatment over 160 days in the last 2 years. Doctors have a challenge with me but I do everything they say and I take what they tell me to. So far I have been on:
Lamictal
Trileptal
Seroquel
Lithium
Welbutrin
Zoloft
Prozac
Risperidone
Topamax
Trazadone
Perhaps one day a dart will hit the bullseye LOL
hello , yes i'm comming off the Seroquel completely but i'm monitoring it very carefully , so if i start to go down hill i can go back to the amount i was on , and Lamictal was on the cards if the Lithium does'nt work for me , but like you mentioned i haven't been on it long so it might take some time to work , i'm just happy i'm functional again because i've be housebound for like a month and not real well for 3 months or so , so it's great to be productive again and social , i can get back to my Rehab therapy group on Monday :)
I read your other post and saw that you were staying on 400 mg. I was hoping they weren't taking you completely off of it because for me life looks differently when I am on Seroquel than when I am off. Also the Lithium does take a little while to work but it is a medicine that is prescribed to a lot of us. I tried it for a while but switched back to Lamictal because it worked better for me. It does take a while and you will have to have your levels checked every so often but I know for a lot of people it works wonders.
I took it for a while and was surprised at how quick it worked. There were aspects of it that made me stop taking it but it was mostly just that I couldn't really tolerate it with the Seroquel. I decided to let it go instead of the Seroquel. It is a great medicine though for most and I am glad that it is improving the quality of your life. Are you still going to stay on a low dose of Seroquel or ccome off of it completely?
