You are not the only one. I often hear conversations in other rooms, ppl arguing outside, etc and I too know the diff as I have had psychic experiences too. It's just part of the BP lifestyle.
That must be very hard. I know someone who sees things that way. It is very scary. :(
I also hope your treatment is helping with that for you.
I'm actually pretty used to it, and feel ALOT better now that I know I'm not the only one who goes through this. I also see things move out of the corner of my eye. I saw a shadow moving on my bedroom door one night when I KNOW there was nothing moving to cause the shadow. If I think its a spirit or somthing then it actually doesn't scare me...its when I have no clue what it is and don't "feel" like its a spirit that I get all confused. I know that sounds weird, but its the best way I can explain it.
Corlenbelspar, yeah I have to agree that would be really scary to have to experience. I couldn't imagine having to go through something like that. I really hope ur meds are helping u and keeping the hallucinations at bay.
Ah but this isn't always out of the corner of my eye, it's straight on in the front of the field of vision and looking at it directly doesn't make it go away.
I see things darting just at the edge of my vision, too. Mostly "cats" and sometimes "people." I know they're not real and not their, though. I just tell myself it is my mind playing tricks and not to worry.
Agree with the rest...I hear things all the time...muffled voices...music. More than occasionally see things...something out of the corner of my eye movng or black "demons" moving through my bedroom or on the ceiling. I try really hard to ignore all these and remind myself it's just "noise"...but still...sometimes it's not that easy. You want to believe in spirits or angels something other than the fact that your mind is working on overload. If it gets too bad, make sure you talk to your doc.
Just be glad you're not seeing monsters or people who aren't really there or that you're not having stuff happen that you can actually feel that isn't there like me.
Hey girl. You are definitely not the only one. I see things sometimes, usually precursing one of my psychotic episodes. The fan is on when I sleep, but then I hear music or voices anyway. I think it strange, but at the same time our neurons aren't exactly normal. So, don't worry, let em chatter. You can get used to it, and if it bugs you talk to your doc.
Now, this has happened only about 4 times in my life and no recently. I hear phones ringing. I say phones because the ring is always the same as the current phone I own. When I was in high school if the phone rang after the family was in bed, it was my job to answer it. Well, one night I was going to sleep and I had my big box fan on, so it made it hard to hear the phone. Every time I would lay down the phone would ring, or so I thought. I would jump up and run into the living room, and it wouldn't be ringing, no one on the line. This went on for about three hours. Finally, feeling like I was completely losing my mind and crying I went and woke up my dad and asked him if the phone had been ringing all night. Of course he said no.
(Plus, if it had been ringing for that long he would have got up and been mad anyway.)
So, I went back to bed and lay there for about an hour listening to the phone ring. If I would sit up, it would stop. So, you tell me. That was the first and scariest time.
On the few other occasions once I figure out that it isn't the phone, then I just tell myself it is all in my head and go away! It has been years since this has happened.
thanks for the reply. That makes me feel better to know I'm not the only one. The things I hear never tell me to do stuff or anything like that, its just music or crying or a tv or something like that. I thought before that maybe I'm just used to hearing that stuff all the time, so I hear it when its not there. I dunno, but sometimes it just makes me feel like I'm going crazy or something.
People with Bipolar Disorder can have hallucinations just like people with Schizf*cknia. My aunt has Bipolar Disorder and we had a conversation about hallucinations and I think she said when she was pregnant she kept hearing music and when she told her kids to turn it down they would tell her they weren't playing anything.
