just can't take the anger issues

My common law husband has violent verbal outbursts over nothing.  It can be over dirty dishes or over the clothes not being dried or someone driving to slow or if he asks a kid to do something and they don't dart up to do it he calls names screams out verbal threats of murder or destruction he has put fists through walls and broken things.  When confronted with his behavior he lashes out more.  Then later when you say do you realize what you said he says What did I say and then blames it on everyone else.  He has low testosterone they are trying to get him on hormone thearapy he is a type 2 diabetic and has ADHD but can't get anyone to retest him in this state to get on the right meds.  All anyone wants to do is put him on depression meds and it makes him even MORE nasty. He is disabled and takes hydrocodone like it is candy.. I am at a loss as to what to do or what to discuss with the doctors to get him the right help.  He has been to a counselor they just tell him to go get a hobby.  I am really afraid he will eventually hurt someone.  Any insite as to what he should be tested for or who we need to go see before this gets worse.  I have been battling this for 5 years now and can't any more.  Tonights outburst was just to over the top and could have landed him in jail as I won't let him talk to a teenager like that ever again not even in jest as he said it was.  His verbal threats of harming someone is just to much.  He does it all the time not just at home.  Anyone crosses him at a bad moment and he looses it verbally.  "Help"

I dont know , it sounds t be alot of things , but comign from my own experience, my husbband has the same kid of outrage, like very abnormal, and he is a drinker, but even when hes not drinking he is still like a time bomb...my point, it could be the vicoden, coming from a recovering addict of opiates, I wasnt violent to that extent but my behavior was night and day when I got off them. And one other thing , men, sometimes Ive just found they can be beasts, no reason other than there freaken testerone, and they think its ok because THERE THE MAN. Its sad and frustrating, good luck hope this helps

Some of those medication might be worsening mood swings and they should confirm a conclusive diagnosis as to whether he has bipolar. There is some information on the welcome page you could read and discuss with his psychiatrist. If he does have bipolar they might need to re evaluate what medications he would need but that's within a psychiatrist's discretion. If he is having any behavior that is violent or threatening honestly that would mean he needs help right away. It may be part of his specific psychiatric disability but it should not be directed at you so you should (from a distance such as on the phone) basically state that he would need to get help or that you would need to separate because you shouldn't wait until it gets out of hand.
