new meds..lamictal and fitzema??

My doctor just started me on those two a few weeks ago, I haven't noticed any changes yet. Previously I was taking Welbutrin, depakote and celexa. I have asked her to put me back.on celexa for anxiety since I dont want to take a narcotic for it like xanax. Has anyone else been on this combination and how long did it take to start leveling out??

Whatever you do, do not go off the lamictal because the withdrawal is baaaad! I took myself off it last week and wow! Dizzy, nausea, feel like someone poisoned me. Went back on it (100 mg) tonight. plus I am on perphenazine and sertraline, all for bipolar 2.

What was the reason for the med change?  How long were you on the Depakote?

Often it can take 4-6 weeks to get the full effect of the meds. I am not familiar with the depression med, fitzema. Ask your dr how long you should it be before you notice a difference. In my experience pscy dr's give one new med at a time. They are looking for side effects and if the med is helping. With multiple meds this is hard to distinguish. No need to take more meds than one needs.
As for anxiety, There is a anxiety med called Vistaril (Hydroxyzine)which is non addicting and not a Benzo. It is really helping me with me anxiety.
