If you have symptoms of this nature you should discuss this concern
with your psychiatrist as soon as possible. What you describe
could be tardive dyskinesia which is a long term movement
disorder caused by all currently available antipsychotics
with the exception of Clozaril. For more information
google "Patient Education Tardive Dyskinesia"
(note as the site itself says "some of these
medications may be medically necessary"
There is also a clinically detailed page at Emedicine
that you could discuss with whoever follows up with this.
If your psychiatrist notes this concern could be a potential
then they would be able to refer you to a neurologist
who is a movement disorders specialist. They could
do further diagnostic work, see what potential options
as regards medications that may not cause it.
might be of help within their clinical discretion. They
could also see what treatments might be of benefit
for it.
