Birth control effects?

Hello everyone,
I was suppose to get my period 2 1/2 weeks ago and I did a pregnancy test at the 2 week mark with a negative.  I am unsure what could be going on especially because I am never nauseous, only have a stuffy nose. No cramping but a little sensitivity in the breasts.
Things you should also know, I was on birth control and the month before I forgot to take my birth control on a weekend trip and got my period, at an irregular time.  This month I got a light period at the same time but while I was taking my birth control properly, then at the end of the packet is where I start my missed period count.  I did start bc because I had irregular periods and this missed period has happened before when I was younger from messing with my bc but never this long.

Just trying to gain ideas from other lovely ladies :)) thanks for all of the input

Hi!
If you were my patient, I would advise you that the reason your period is delayed is almost certainly that you haven't been taking your birth control properly. I always suggest double checking the pregnancy test, but if two tests are negative, you are probably NOT pregnant.  In the meantime, you should probably stop all pills, and use a back up barrier method such as condoms.
Don't forget about emergency contraception too!
Plan B is the name of one such product.
Hope this helps!
