Concerned about contraceptive cover

Hi, please bear with me as this is quite lengthy. I have been on the combined pill Marvelon for a few months now with no problems. Always taking the pill on time (or within the 12 hour limit as stated in my leaflet) etc.

This month however I lost a pill quite early on in the pack, so replaced it with the last pill in the packet as per instructions on the NHS website (where it states that you still have contraceptive cover for the 7 day break, you just need to remember to start the next pack of pills on time, essentially a day earlier than usual) and I just finished my pack on Sunday - usually finish on Monday.

This isn't too much of a concern to me as I double checked this info with my GP as well.

What is concerning me, which my GP wasn't too sure of himself (so comforting...) is that I went into surgery two Fridays ago and was advised to not take the pill until the next day. This ended up with my pill being more than 12 hours late, but the doctor at the hospital and the NHS website both state that as long as a missed pill is taken within 24 hours it provides cover, and to keep taking pills at the normal time. So later that day I took my next pill at the normal time, but was having side effects from the anaesthetic and ended up throwing up my dinner, around 2 1/2 - 3 hours after taking the pill. I know this could mean the pill is lost, but I didn't want to replace it with ANOTHER from the end of the packet cos I didn't know whether you could do that more than once per pack and still be covered.

I continued taking pills correctly from the Sunday for the last week of my pack, and had unprotected sex for the first time since before my surgery on Sunday just gone, the last day of my pack and 7 days after the potentially missed pill.

I haven't been too concerned then all of a sudden I started freaking myself out because I know on their own that all these incidents are fine, but I'm not sure about together. I was going to run a second pack back to back just to be on the safe side but I didn't have it with me due to staying at my boyfriend's and couldn't get a prescription in time. I phoned NHS 111 and the lady didn't seem concerned which has eased me a little but I am still a little worried.

As long as I start my next pack on time I should be covered, right?
