Is it normal to bleed after IUD came out?

I went in for a change out on my IUD and this is my 3rd one. Afterwards I had some bleeding like I was on my period which was kinda strange for me. So 5 days went by and I checked for the strings and they were there but felt something sharp so I had my husband look up what it's supposed to look like and it was the knot that I was feeling so I gently pulled on the strings and it came right out.
