La seasonique - on my 8th month and bleeding

Hi
My gyn has put me on La Seasonique to curb my endometriosis symptoms. So the whole point of this birth control is not to get my period. I have completed 2 packs already. The first pack was usual, break through bleeding and spotting for almost the entire 3 months.. period at the end of the third month. The second pack was bliss, no spotting or bleeding and very mild bleeding at the end of the 3 months. This is my 3rd pack and I am on my second month. Since 2nd Jan I have been spotting, started with brown spots and now there is full on bleeding. Not heavy but light bleeding. I called my doc and she said she will increase my dosage but I just went through a zillion viral and bacterial infections and I was scared to make a shift now (lest I fall sick again - given that I have an active toddler I cannot afford bed rest) . I let my gyn know that I would like to continue the pills and finish my third month before a dosage change. I am scheduling a visit with my gyn this week and I was wondering if anyone has experienced this with la seasonique. My gyn listens to my demands so shall I tell her I dont want an increase in dosage or that I need a new pill etc... I just dont want my endo to re-occur as it ***** out my life :( Also I have been taking the pill regularly just not at the exact time.. somewhere between 8:00 to 11:00 PM daily. Could that be the reason??

Hello,
The spotting that you were having was due to breakthrough bleeding due to hormonal imbalance caused by taking the pills and not your period bleeding. The symptom that you are having are due to these hormonal changes and the bleeding should become better with time.

If it persists then other treatment options of endometriosis can be entertained. Treatment involves NSAID pain killers,GnRH analogs, oral contraceptive pills, progestins and surgery.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
