Late taking pill

okay so i have been on the pill now for around 4 years.i take it regularly and have never once fell pregnant. now i know i should know this stuff already but im not sure so just a quick one really. I had sex today with my partner and didnt use protection, which would be fine usually apart from that i took my last pill on saturday the 27th for my weeks break to have my period. I realised id ran out of the pill and was supposed to get it today to start retaking, even though today would still be 3 days later than i should have started retaking.i didnt make it to the nurses and now have to wait til thursday to get my next 6month supply. Now my question is, i know that when you have the week break from the pill you are protected, but what about if the break is longer than the week? is there a chance i could catch pregnant for not re starting my pill on time?
Thanks

yh i decided to go and get the morning after pill as i spoke 2 an adviser at my local clinic, she said i could get it free from chemists that are in a scheme in my area offering free emergency contraception. I thought it would be better to take it just incase coz i mean it only takes once doesnt it! thanx for the reply though x
