Mirena Removal

I have had my Mirena for 5 years with no serious side affects. The first few months very light periods then eventually none at all except for some spotting a few times a year. I experienced painful cramps for about a day or two each month around the time I would have my period but that was only for about the first year and a half eventually it was the best thing for me no periods, no pregnancy, and no other noticeable side effects. So my question is to those who have had their IUD removed that could possibly share what their experience was like as far as periods, future pregnancies ( we will be trying pretty soon), cramps etc. I just had mine taken out about 5 hrs ago and have not experienced any cramping or bleeding but am very nervous as to what to expect. What was your experience after getting in removed?

Some women do have cramping and bleeding but it seems to depend on the woman and how quickly your body responds.  Keep us posted on how you feel.

After having my mirena iud removed in October of last year, my flow decreased by about half! I have pretty severe cramps, but they are caused by ovarian cysts and I don't link it to the removal of my iud. I don't think i have even needed to use a tampon since  last October, come to think of it. The removal is so quick and bearable, I had very minimal soreness following. I cannot help you in the pregnancy department, but I wish you the best.
