Missed period or just pill effect???

Hi I'm on Loestrin & I have been on them for a while. I missed a few pills in the beginning of this month but continued taking the rest. My boyfriend & I were still active on the days that I missed & took my pills. Now on the week that I was supposed 2 get my period (last week) I only got a little bit of spotting one day then nothing for the other 4 days. I was worried that I was pregnant but when I took a home pregnancy test it showed up negative. I'm so confused especially because i've been feeling really tired & weird & hungry & nauseous. Is this normal or what's going on???

Hi yes that's what my Doc said (I saw her yesterday). I did make up the pills I missed and my Doc said that missing pills & having an irregular period can cause bloating (hence the almost 9 pound gain). I'm going to continue taking my pills as usual until my next period & if I hv a repeat episode of this whole issue i'm going 2 ask her 2 switch me to a higher dose pill so I won't keep getting scared like that. =)

it says on my birth control (ortho tricyclen lo), that missing pills can cause no period and spotting. It's really when you don't get your period for TWO months that you should be worried.

Did you make up the pills you missed?

When did you test?  Did you test only once?  I would test again if you only tested once.  If you are pregnant, you could have tested before the pregnancy hormone could be detected.  And that depends on the test you took as well.   Test again.
