Mixing Birth Control pill

Hi. I just started taking birth control pills. I was recommended microgynon 30 which contains ethinylestradiol 30 mcg / levonorgestrel 150 mcg. I took the pill on the first day of my period at 10pm

That evening I lost the pill pack and as microgynon 30 wasn't available at the GP's office, I was instead put on Gedarel 30/150 which contains  ethinylestradiol 30 mcg / desogestrel 150 mcg.
I took the 1st Gedarel 30 pill on the 2nd day of my period (but it was my 2nd birth control pill in that cycle as I had taken micgrogynon the night before as above) .
I have taken gedarel 30 regularly since then at  10pm everyday.this is my first week of use for the first time

On the 5th day of my period (4th day of gedarel 30 )  I had protected sex with my boyfriend and I don't believe the condom broke (though I'm paranoid about this) therefore I took levonelle (an emergency contraceptive) with 48 hours and have continued gedarel 30 as per usual.

Does this pose any pregnancy risk ?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi there,
You had started the pills during the first two days of your periods so you were protected from pregnancy right away. In addition to that you have also taken emergency contraception after sex so you are all the more protected. Emergency contraceptive pills may/may not affect your periods. They can cause early or delayed periods occasionally. Wait for your periods. If they are delayed by more than 7 days take up pregnancy test. Blood HCG determination is more sensitive test for diagnosing pregnancy compared to urine pregnancy test. Visit your gynecologist for more queries and assistance.
Best luck and regards!

Thank you for the reply. My question is since the pill I took on the first day of my period was slightly different in composition from the one I took from the 2nd onwards, it doesn't result in reduced effectiveness does it?

Also, just out of curiosity if the birth control pill protects from pregnancy straight away, why do most brands advise to use a backup method for the first 7 days?
