Ortho Tri Cylean Lo

Well I have been on this BC for almost a month now..
I have had three periods in one month. My normal period was July 19th - 22nd.. then a week after that I had another for about 4 days, some heavy bleeding mostly spotting.. and now.. 2 weeks later or so... I just started spotting again, yesterday and now I'm back on my period, it's pretty heavy... Not sure what to think.. Anybody have a clue of what this could be? I thought about going to my GYN but they are always so busy, would be about a month before I could get an appt. So I'm asking y'all for some advice? Or what you might think it is.

But before I started taking birth control.. I started gaining weight.. which I never do and breaking out... I'm only 17.

Hello,
I can understand your concern. Breakthrough bleeding(bleeding while taking the active pills of combined oral contraceptives, or other hormonal contraceptives),spotting and changes in menstrual flow are common side effects after starting the oral contraceptives and they are frequent while taking the triphasic contraceptive(orthotricyclen). Breakthrough bleeding is most common when a woman first begins taking oral contraceptives, or changes from one particular oral contraceptive to another. Headaches, weight gain and dizziness are other related side effects.

Usually these symptoms cease after two or three cycles, but if they persist then you have to shift the birth control pills to some other brand or use a different method of contraception like condoms. Hence I sincerely suggest you to wait for the subsequent one or two cycles and if the symptoms persist then please consult a gynecologist and switch over to other forms of contraceptives.

I hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.

Edit **

I've also had severe headaches.. they are very painful at times.. where I can barely shower.
and I didn't mean to say two weeks later for this period.. I only meant a week or around that.
