I have been on Yaz for 4 months now and my period got lighter and lighter until this month it didn't arrive. I DO  NOT think that it is healthy to not get your period for months at a time. A period is part of being a woman and being fertile as burdensome as it is. I can imagine that it could damage your body later in life and prevent you from having kids.

I have also been experiencing a large increase in hair loss...It just keeps coming out! Who wants to go bald?? My boyfriend is a doctor and I'm going to tell him NEVER to prescribe this pill to anyone. I think it is dangerous and has too many side effects.

I have been on Yaz for over a year and haven't had a period and hope to not have another one! :) It is very healthy not to have a period due to contraceptives such as these. I was on the Depo shot for 16 years and never had a period during that entire time! I had to stop that because it was causing a little bone-loss, however, with many calcium supplements that is now back to normal. I am a super healthy 35 year old. I have a child. I have always been a little under weight based on what the charts that tell us what we should weigh.  My doctor explained to me that you are less prone to infections when you don't have a menstrual cycle due to your lining not opening and I can tell you I have never had any type of infection either. So don't worry!

I've been on Yaz for 2 full weeks now. I took my very first pill on the first day of my last period and haven't stopped bleeding yet. I'm having cramps and just wondering when it's going to stop.

I have been on yaz since June of 2007, at first all was well then about 2 months later my period just stopped completely and have not had one since. Is it normal not to have a period ever and have no consequences later?

You know I have metioned it to her and she says that it is ok, it's just the side effect of the pill. According to the info it says that it is suppose to lighten up a litte and I have had no period since around Sept of last yr. I'm all confused!!!

Hmm, I just started Yaz again (had to switch to Yasmin for a bit) and my period has been going for two weeks. Now technically I'm supposed to be starting my period tomorrow and the bleeding is finally tapering off. Maybe it effects everyone differently and everything will become normal after 2-3 months of use

With any birth control pill, there is a chance that your periods will become very light, or even non-existent. Although I hear about it quite often, and have had it happen as well while on Zovia and now on Yaz, you should mention it to your prescribing doctor just to be on the safe side.
