i had my first depo shot on feb. 14 2008 and i was supposed to go back and get another on the 2nd of may...but my fiance and i want to get pregnant so i did not go....i was wondering how long it would take for the shot to be completely out of my system...i also heard that it might take a year to concieve after u stop taking depo but does the length of time that u have been taking the shot matter...since i have only had the shot once will it still be about a year until i can cancieve?

It can take as little as one month or it can take up to 3 years to get out of your system. Every body is different.  Good luck.

I had kidney problems as a child and was told that if I ever conceived I would most likely miscarry.  Thyroid problems as a teenager I was told I would have a hard time conceiving.  Went on Depo at 18 at the request of my BF.  Was supposed to get a shot End of Jan 2005.  Missed the shot, wasn't worried about it because of the year turn around time I read about.  Found out I was pregnant Feb of 2005, and delivered Nov 2005.  Nothing is impossible.
