the time i take the pill during the day

Hi,
so I’ve been on the pill for two months now, and I was wondering when they say take the pill at approximately the same time everyday how large of a time gap does this allow before it's considered a missed pill? I take my pill usually when I get up in to morning which is around 8:45 but on the odd occasion I oversleep or just forget till later in the morning. Will this affect me in anyway?

There are certain types of progestin only pills that are critical to take within 4 hours of the time they are due.  However, these are not commonly prescribed.

You should be ok, taking it as you describe.

a missed pill is 24 hours late. so if you take your pill at 8:45.....8:45 and after, the next day would be concidered missed.

if you oversleep or forget to take it until later in the morning then take it. no it wont really effect you. you should take it the same time everyday for the effectiveness and being late someday might cause you to spot a little. not biggie
