DO NOT GET THE DEPO SHOT!!!it's the worst bc out there. I was on it. On my 3rd shot I started a period and have had one ever since. It's very heavy, and non stop. It's lasted for 85 days. The shot has caused me to have 2 ovarian cysts, and now the dr suspects endometriosis.  So I will be having laproscopic surgery on December 1st, with a d and c. I will never use depo again.

having the insertion in your arm, would cause you to have the same side effects for the time spand it is in. The pill is honestly the easiest, cause you can just change it if it doesn't work out, but if you can't remember taking it, I would get the shot. that way you don't have to worry about losing a pill or forgetting it.

It all depends on your body! Ive been on almost all the birth controls besides the nuvaring, and had a reaction to all of it. Just depends on what works well with you & your body. The shot or the implant in your arm is what i think is best since sometimes you may forget to take the pill. Hope you can decide!

I'd get an IUD. I've had it between all 3 of my kids and I loved it no remembering anything and the only side effect I had was a lighter shorter period.

I wouldnt have the shot i had it and constantly got my period and i remember having it for nearly 6 weeks straight. I would just say take the normal contraception pill i always found that was safe for my husband and I.

The depo damanged my cervix causing them not to soften .. Meaning I couldn't push another child out again . I was on it for a year after my son , it took five years to get pregnant again . after I got pregnant I had to have a csection . the doctor told me it was because of the shot :(

I wouldn't recommend the shot. I've never had it & ive always been on the pill, but I've heard & known way too many people who have done that & won't do it again. My boyfriends sister has had her period for over a month now since she's gotten that. & the only reason she's even on it is to gain weight. Plus, she's not the only one I've heard about having the never ending period.

I prefer the depo prevera myself, it keeps me from having a monthly cycle which I love but it does have a tendency to make you gain weight so if you choose it I suggest you try a healthier lifestyle with a good amount of exercise if not you'll pack on the pounds like crazy
