Lo Loestrin Fe and cycles

I have been taking Lo Loestrin Fe since January 2013. While on the pill I was having a period every two weeks. Was this normal? I recently stopped taking the pill at the end of a pack on October 1st. I still have not had a period. Is this normal? My husband and I want to try getting pregnant but I want to be sure my cycle is back to normal. What is going on? HELP!

I have not had unprotected sex since getting off of the pill so there is no reason I should be pregnant. Is it ok to try getting pregnant even though I am not sure if my cycles are back to normal?

Hi!
If you were my patient, I would advise you that the first thing to do is a pregnancy test since that is the most common reason to miss your period.
If the test is negative, you could ask your doctor for some medication to help start your period for you, OR just wait and see what happens in the next few weeks.  We usually allow up to 3 months for the cycles to return to normal.  Certainly if you aren''t back to normal within that amount of time, you shoud call your doctor for follow up.
Good luck!
