Blood Disorders & Infertility

My doctor suspects I might have Von Willebrand and has referred me to see a hematologist and do some blood work. She said "We should test to see if you have it and if you can then have kids".

As you might understand, that was unsettling for me.

Is there a chance that VW or any other blood disorder for that matter could cause sterility or infertility?

I have von will brands type 1.  I was diagnosed when I was 16. I am now 44. I have two awesome kids. (18 & 21) when I was pregnant.  My blood levels became normal...I was closely monitored and my delivery was planned so that the DVAP was on hand just in case. I was fine though and after 6 months my von will brands was back. Talk to your doc. It probably depends on type you have.

Don't know, but your first and immediate concern should be your own personal health.  When that is figured out would be the time to worry about side issues, if any exist...that's how I see it.
