Brain Tumor information

My grandfather (dad's dad) died very young, about 30, from some sort of Brain disease. He lived in India so I don't know actual diagnosis.

My father passed away about 3 years ago, he was 49. He died of a Brain tumor. I also don't know the exact diagnosis because I didn't live with him and I'm trying to get hold of his medical records.

My question is whether or not Brain tumors are hereditary. My father had severe depression his whole life and I have had depression since I was younger too, I am just worried if there are some precautions I should be taking. I'm a female by the way.

Thanks in advance

Dear Amber98

These are all information you must tell your family doctor.
There are some brain diseases that can be hereditary. Ideally you should get all the information possible related to your father's disease, which will help to define if any further test is going to be necessary for you.
There is nothing else for you to do other than having a healthy life.

Thanks, the area is quite small so that is my next mission. Thanks again!

Thanks a lot doctor.

I agree with you, it's just very hard to find information since I never lived with my father. I live in Canada and I know his full name and previous address, but I don't know his doctor or hospital. Do you know if there is a place I can contact to receive his records?
