feeling bad after gamma knife

Hello,
This is the first time I've ever requested information on line about my problem.  I had the gamma knife done just about 6 weeks ago. Since then they put me on decadron because the right side of my face keeps going numb.Well, after taking this, thing got even worse. I can't concentrate and haven't been able to work, I don't dare drive a car because I feel like a zombie. They said to stop taking the decacron, so i'm being weaned off, down to 2mg every other day. But, I'm worried because I still can't concentrate and I get really foggy feeling. The numbness on my face they say that I'd have to get use to. But, what I'm worried about is my life, I just hate it when this foggy feeling creeps over my head, and some days I feel like that all day. Even certain foods taste bitter, and my mouth taste bitter all the time. I have to suck on suckers all day just to keep that bitter taste out. Oh, I can hardly climb stairs, and I get tired very easily . Can the Gamma knife do damage like that? The tumor is on the right side brain stem.  I would appreciate any information
Thanks,
Pam

I have a feeling they don't want us to have bad side effects and tend to not 'hear' us. It was radiation blasted into our brains and we are lucky to alive. Its not like we would not have gotten it if they told us about likely side effects. So I think they need to pay attention to US! We live in our bodies, we are having the post gamma knife experiences.  I am foggy,  anxious,  have seizures,  my MRIs over 10 years are showing more and more issues that have no other apparent explanation.  I was given the gamma knife, they never followed up on me...I think they should track us for long term side effects....instead if saying there are none.

Hello,
I had a MRI ordered by my ENT. Because I was having ringing in my ear. The tumor showed up on the right side brain stem. They did the gamma knife because it is less invasive than surgery. But, they didn't say anything about reactions. I feel like they don't believe me. Now my legs have swollen up like tree trunks.
This sounds crazy...but before the gamma I was normal. The only problem I had was heartburn, that I take prilosec for.
Good luck on your MRI..let me know what they find.
