Has anyone had Chiari surgery & had a titanium mesh plate used as a covering?
Has anyone had Chiari Decompression surgery & had a titanium mesh covering used instead of a synthetic or bovine patch?
I had my surgery in 2012 by Dr. B in Pittsburgh. He described a SMALL, SOLID titanium plate that he would use. I just recently learned that it is a LARGE MESH PLATE!
Has anyone had their's removed? If so, has your pain & quality of life improved?
My quality of life is VERY POOR!! I'm in agonizing pain STILL, 5 years post op! I'm on heavy duty prescribed pain meds, I am permanently disabled, mentally & physically. My recent Urodynamics study results weren't good, my bladder is neurogenic, again. My recent neuropsychological test report has revealed that I have MANY issues...it wasn't good!
I've tried several different medications & procedures in search of relief, to no avail!
