Pre-existing health issues can be a problem, but some insurers put a time limit such as 6 months on it (at least when I was looking) so once you or your husband gets a job, it may be the contract they have or the insurance company and the self pay may be more difficult.

There is information in the health pages. Pain is generally not a major symptom in pituitary but can happen with the hormonal changes. I know I get pain with mine but the doctors mostly feel it is not related so prepare to be called *fibromyalgia*. Headaches are related.

Post-military (thanks BTW) are you not eligible for COBRA?

Well, first, I appreciate your husband served us here in America and the sacrifices you've made for him to defend our freedom- thank you guys!

I hope your husband will soon have a great job in the private sector with medical insurance that will cover you.  Some insurance will take people with pre-existing conditions, but at very expensive premium prices.  It seems there are also places now where you can get any lab tests you want (heard advertised one opened up fairly close to the rural place I live).  Based on your symptoms and research online as to what hormones out of balance might cause those symptoms, you might try to pursue testing those particular hormone levels.

If you are disabled, you might apply for either Social Security disability (SSDI) where after a time you can get medicare or, if you don't qualify for that, for SSI and medic-aid.  You might try to find a neuroendocrinologist whose office is willing to work out a payment plan if finances are an issue for you, etc..

I'm sorry you are in pain!  I hope you soon will be able to further check things out!  (See private message for more info on the pituitary.)
