Prolactinoma

Hi, I have been having a range of issues of late. A few weeks ago they did a pituitary  MRI and discovered a 5 MM microadenoma and also elevated prolactin levels of 70. The doctor could not confirm if it was a prolactinoma or a nonfunctioning tumor but has started me on cabergoline with only .25 mg once a week. Also I was tested for growth hormone, the cortisol acth test, estradiol, dhea, testosterone- you name it all!! Everything was okay except for mildly low estrogen and low testosterone. Anyways I had no side effects of the Medicine for the first two weeks and now I had my periods with the worst cramps and headache I have had in my life!!! Like I feel like dying :-( I am constantly on Advil and Tylenol.  I also have chronic sinus issue so it's confusing to know if it's a sinus issue or this. Plus I have IBS so my food options are so limited and I take bentyl so don't know if this is because of that?. I cannot carry on I think with this pill. At least I will take a short break of a week to see if these issues resolve? I feel like my hopes in life are at its lowest now. How can I live like this?  Any of you can empathize or have something similar? Would alpreciate your stories!

Did you start on full dose or taper up? Tapering can help.

Speak  to pharmacist re side effects but the period I feel is because the prolactin is lowering. Ask pharmacist about all the mess you take and how to take so they don't interfere with each other.  I have to take my list in and adjust all mine with anything new.

Not sure about the sinus issue. Not sure it is related.

Things will adjust over time as your body adjusts to the "new" levels and you got sick over time. It takes time to get well. Symptoms will get better.
