I am a student radiographer and believe me its worth just waiting to see what either the report says or what your dr/specialist says, unless u have been trained to read radiographs, CT or MRI scans it is very difficult and not worth worrying more if you THINK you see something that may not be anything at all.
:) goodluck
You can usually compare them to normal pics on the internet - but it is pretty hard to read them if you are a novice. The weightings make some things dark, then light so you have to know what you are looking at to know what is going on.
After 24 hours usually, in most states, the patient can go pick up a copy of the report. It can be mailed too.
I also received a CD to take to my Dr. However, I already knew it was a pituitary tumor and it was used to determine placement and size. I probably couldn't have picked it out by myself.
By the way, they missed my tumor 5 years prior and chalked it up to migraines. They were wrong! Do your homework prior to going to the Dr. Make a list of all your symptoms even if you think they are wierd. I did so and went into my Dr office and told her that I had a tumor. All she did was confirm and send me off to a specialist. Good luck.
