Epidermoid cyst in fourth ventricle

I have been diagnosed with epidermoid cyst in the fourth ventricle and neurosurgeon has been monitoring this with regular MRIs. There have been some vision change and ventricles are getting bigger. He has asked me to schedule surgery. I am nervous about this and will appreciate if anyone has gone through the surgery and can share the experience. Also, what questions should I ask the neurosurgeon before the surgery?

Thanks

I had a cyst on the pons, adjacent to the fourth ventricle & medulla.

Have you had another appointment with the neurosurgeon?
What is his or her experience with cysts or tumors in this area of the brain?

Where are you located?

I'm sorry I didn't see your post weeks ago when you wrote it.

Sorry to hear you have to have surgery...

Cysts should be removed from what I read in whole or part or they will refill.  I would ask about his experience in this particular surgery, risks, post op recovery and restrictions and how to prepare,..

Most of the risk is anesthesia as long as the surgeon is experienced.
