Usually one has to try the normal way a certain amount of time (unless of course, they know there is an existing issue) and then you and your partner would go to a clinic.
I would not know of a way other than adoption.
Thanks , my next appointmentis April19 . I will make sure i will aska bunch of questions. But fr now i am on only on 5mg of prednisone . There was no metion of TSH , i guess it's fine , i don't wake up to pee at night anymore.
So my question is can you have kids without going to the fertility clinic?
You had a non-secreting tumor and the ONLY hormones effected were the gonadal axis? That I find is really strange. Did you get a copy of your pathology? A non-secreting tumor is typically very large and effects a lot of hormones via mass effect, as well as your eyes. One is usually rendered panhypopit or hypopit afterward - so something is not adding up.
Are you working with a neuro-endocrinolgist and are you are a pituitary center? Do you write down your questions ahead of time? Take someone with you that you can allow to hear all this stuff - sometimes they will pay more attention when someone else is there. I once adopted another mother when a doc was being a jerk.
They should be testing you for a lot of things - and testing you 3 weeks after, well, of course you are going to be low - your pit was just wacked. You have to get more testing - and test everything.
well, i did some bloodwork 3 weeks post-op and my endo said my sex hormones were low , my neuro said they will always be low . I have a neuro and endo who work in partnership. But to be honest these guys everytime i go and see them , i feel short-changed . I don't really get the info or answers i need.
It looks like my thyroid and growth hormone were not much affected because pre-op they mainly mentioned my testosterone.
Right now my endo is trying to wean me from predno and maybe i will go for another fsh/lh test .
Is the doctor just saying this - or has he run testing?
Typically, you would need thyroid replacement after surgery and/or growth hormone. The FSH/LH is not the first to go but the last.
I would get a copy of your testing and see what is going on. How you are feeling is a pretty good indication of how you feel and why mess with that?
Just the fact that the guy put you on pred post surgery is enough to tell me the guy is maybe not super skilled - that is not what most docs use. HC is more like what the body makes and is also easier to wean from.
Is your endo a neuro-endo?
