Neck and Head pain

I am 22 years old and I have been experiencing pain in the back of my neck for as long as I can remember. It feels as if I constantly need to crack my neck, shoulders and wrists, which results in me tilting my head back and forth excessively and stretching my arms and wrists out. About 8 years ago I went to my family doctor for an opinion. The blood work came back normal and I was told that it may just be a habit. Today the neck pain is accompanied with sporadic quick sharp pains in my temples and severe headaches after naps that rather quickly subside. I also occasionally wake in the middle of the night in a panic from extreme pain in my head and neck that goes away after about 5 minutes. I can't live with this anymore. Please advise

Welcome.
I saw your post and wondered if you have ever been to a chiropractor for this. This might be a good place to start. It sounds like you could have a structural abnormality that is affecting your nerves now. A chiro  should be able to confirm this, or rule it out pretty quickly. I'd call around and ask about this possibility.

Hi - You might ask to be referred to a specialist. Either a neurologist or go straight to a headache specialist. Hopefully, they can do further testing to find out what's going on. Since you've been experiencing this for so long it is a good call to take that next step and see if you can get referred out if you haven't already done so. I have the sporadic quick sharp pains in my head as well and do not currently have a specific diagnosis for it. There are a few people on here though who can speak much better to that than I can.

Good luck.
