VERY SCARED!!!

What's the difference in a pituitary tumor and brain tumor?  Brain infection?

My story:  since Father's day, I've had pressure type headaches ( like sinus, but I can breathe fine through my nose ) and dizziness, that causes ear popping and swallowing drainage in the back of my throat.  I've been to my regular doctor, who dismissed my feelings ( he won't be my doctor anymore after Aug. 1) and the PA in his office said it probably was, and gave me a steroid shot, which helped some but caused other problems.  I finally am seeing a ENT tomorrow after 3 long weeks of waiting, due to problems with my regular doctor.  I have had blood work at different times, everything comes out fine.  I am getting scared it's something more serious like a brain tumor, or pituitary tumor or brain infection.  I don't have any other symptoms, except that, but sometimes nasua.

I had a CT of the sinuses, NEGATIVE, the ENT doctor said it's not sinuses or allergies, and referred me to a Neurologists.  I asked him about it being a tumor and he said probably not, but I asked if we could do an MRI, he hesitated but finally siad he would just to prove my worry wrong.  I have the MRI tomorrow at 7pm.  I'm nauseated right now, scared and just not hopeful.

Hello, I spent ten years going to an ENT with the same symptoms If you are concerned ask for a cats scan or MRI. I was diagnosed with a pituitary Tumor after the tumor started pressing on my optic nerve and i had to call 911. The ENT missed diagnosed it for ten years so it kept growing now it is wrapped around the cavernous sinus.I had surgery and radiation i have been doing great since 2001. My advice is to be your own advocate get a CAT scan or an MRI. Then you won't have to worry anymore.

Thank you, that is reassuring; I have been surfing the net all day about this, and worried sick to the point of crying.  I will let you know.  I posted this on the alergy board, but you answered the question. about the sinus symptoms.

A pituitary tumor is on the pituitary, a pea-sized gland behind the eyes. A brain tumor is well, in the brain matter. There are many different types of both.

An ENT sounds very appropriate for you since a steroid shot worked (agree about the side effects!) but sinus headaches would cause the symptoms you have and the nausea could be caused by mucus in your stomach. You can have a sinus infection and not have elevated WBC.
