i have a fibroadenoma in my breast, what should i do?

i was feeling a lump in my left breast for an year. 2 months ago, i felt that its size became double. so i was worried and two weeks ago i had a doctor's appointment and she recommened ultrasound.

ultrasound report tells that there is a well defined hypoechoic nodular measure 3.8*2.3cm, is seen at upper outer quadrent of left breast at 2 degree clock position. it has smooth contours and not fixed to underlying tissues. it is likely a fibroadenoma.

i have never feel any pain but feeling pain in that breast for two days which makes me more worried.

does it cause cancer or tumor? should i put it out from surgery?

Hi,
Fibroadenoma is a common lump that develops in women usually young and sometimes in older women too. These kind of lumps are non-malignant (benign or non-cancer)
If a woman has a fibroadenoma, it is movable, painless, smooth, round, and hard. and  it's easily seen with a mammogram. It is treated by excision, if it becomes too large or painful,or it can be left alone. But,some sort of tests is needed to give an accurate diagnosis that the lump is indeed a fibroadenoma.
Fibroadenomas are harmless and they do not turn into cancer.
Try a low-fat diet and limiting your caffeine intake...It can help to reduce the pain.
Please discuss with your doctor what are your options concerning this lump that is now causing you pain and if more evaluation is needed.I am sure that your Doctor will come up with the best solution for you.
Take care and best wishes...

No,caffeine does not cause Fibroadenomas and it's not known why some women are more prone to develop these benign lumps. Some studies suggest that these lumps may be dependent upon estrogen, because they are common in premenopausal women, pregnant women and postmenopausal women taking estrogen.
Limiting beverages or foods that contain caffeine, including coffee and chocolate can help shrink the lump and reduce the pain.
Also evening primrose oil and vitamins E and C supplement, application of warm compresses to the breast and massaging with Castor oil could be very beneficial.
But please, when you'll see your Doctor ask him/her before taking any kind of vitamins and supplements.
