Architectural Distortion?

I have been recalled for a diagnostic mammogram due to architectural distortion in my right breast.  I also now notice an indentation in the skin of that breast, but I cannot feel any sort of mass.

I have had diagnostic mammograms/ultrasounds on this breast before (a year ago) due to nipple discharge and the findings were benign.

Based on my symptoms, what is the likelihood that this is cancer vs. something benign?  I know that only the tests can answer that definitely; I'm just curious to know what the percantages are.

Thank you for any input.

architectural distortion is a fairly broad term used to describe scarring-appearance. This can be due to various things, including injury, infection, cancer. When there is an indentation in the skin, it can be an indication of any of the same things. It is of concern.

Dear AnneH, There are no percentages about this.  All of the information has to be taken as a whole, such as your history, physical exam as well as these findings. So based on the findings now, decisions would be made on what the reasonable next step to evaluate them.
