BURNING NIPPLE PAIN

Ladies,
I don't know which forum to post this question in, so I am starting here. I have had for several years an INTENSE burning pain in both of my nipples. I get this pain approximately once a day. That doesn't sound like a lot, but once I get the pain it stays with me throughout the day. Lately the pain has been more severe. My breast specialist has put me on Tamoxifin which I have been off and on for the past four years. He last put me on this in November 2009. This medication is not helping. He said to give it a few more months. I had a hysterectomy in 2004 (at age 30) and have since had both ovaries removed at two seperate times (2005 & 2006), plus and ovarian remnant in 2006. I have never had any children and I have obviously never breast fed. I add that statement as the only information that I can find online is in regards to breastfeeding. The pain that I experience is so intense that it makes me so sick. I have a HUGE pain tolerance, but can no longer stand this pain. I don't know where to turn and the doctors don't have any answers for me. If anyone has any information for me on this matter I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you all in advance,
Tracy

I'm sorry you didn't get any hint of an answer on the Expert Forum. It is true that the buring sensation you describe wouldn't be related to breast cancer; especially since it comes and goes. As a rule any burning, tingling, stinging sensation / pain is related to some type of nerve involvement or damage such as a pinched nerve. If this continues and you get no answers you might consider seeing a Neurologist who may be able to track down the cause.   Take care ....

Thanks for the information on the "Expert" breast cancer forum. I did post my question on there and was told basically that since my issue wasn't in regards to breast cancer then they didn't have answers for me. Oh well......on with my search for no answers....I am getting so discouraged.
Thanks again,
Tracy

I would like for you to post your concerns on the "Expert" Breast Cancer Forum where Dr.s answer posts. The Forum has a daily limit so it may take a few tries before you are able to post there. If you have difficulty you might try at different times of the day / night as the Forum re-sets daily at different times. I must admit I don't quite see the connection with Tamoxifen especially if you've been on it sporadically for several years without results.   Regards .....
