Bendectin birth defects

Is there future side affects to taking Bendectin?  I took Bendectin for my first pregnancy. Then was told it can cause fetal anomalies and defects. She now has Stage 1 and 2 breast cancer. Is there connection?  She is 39

Of course you're scared for her and she most likely is scared also but one can rarely place blame where cancer is concerned. Even Family History accounts for a very small percentage of all cases diagnosed. I'm certain that she is now receiving treatment of some sort and as always we wish for a successful treatment plan and uneventful recovery. Both of you "hang in there" and fight the good fight against this dread disease. Please know that we are here for you at any time .... questions, concerns, or just need to vent please come back and let us know how things are going. Kindest regards to you and your Daughter.

First of all here in this community we deal with the specifics of Breast Cancer or symptoms of same for those who have questions or concerns regarding the subject.
I can see no connection between your taking Bendectin and your Daughter now having Breast Cancer since birth defects were at the time the main concern regarding the drug rather than far reaching complications.
For your information in case you were not aware the drug has been approved by the FDA and is returning under a different name after being discontinued some 30 years ago. After all the testing and investigational studies it was proven that taking this drug did NOT increase the incidence of birth defects in children any more than those in children whose Mothers did not take the drug.
I'm sorry to hear that your Daughter is having to fight this dread disease but we here wish her successful treatment and recovery. Breast Cancer in it's early stages is much more likely to be cured these days than in the past. Advances are being made almost daily in treatment. Best wishes to you both.   Kindest regards ....
