Benign or Malignant?

I have a poorly circumscribed hypoechoic nodule with possible calcifications with a BIRAD score of 4. What are the chances of this being cancer? I just got my biopsy today but I want to know if the possibility of it being benign is greater than it being malignant or vice versa? They are being very optimistic about it at the breast center but I just have this feeling that its not good.

Hi,
It’s hard to say, because when Radiologists assign a BIRADS score 4 it means that the lesion is just suspicious but nothing more than that. With a category 4, a biopsy is always recommended to check the suspicious area to make sure that cancer is ruled out. Try not to worry too much and keep in mind that very often biopsies done on suspicious lesions turn out negative for cancer.
Hoping that everything will be just fine for you too.
Best wishes…
