Thank you so much.
My doctor has prescribed me some medicine and also has said that i may have to undergo surgery if needed (as said by u).
Thanks a lot.
You are welcome,
Please don't worry... Duct Ectasia is a BENIGN condition ( NO cancer) and will not affect your health,or any other part of your body..
As I mentioned in my previous comment, this condition often improves without treatment, but if it persists, your doctor could prescribe an antibiotic and a pain reliever for breast discomfort. These medications could greatly improve your symptoms.,but if the antibiotic do not clear up this problem, then surgery to remove the affected ducts could be an option and you should follow your doctor's advice,if he/she recommends it okay?.
Take care now....
thank you zouzi for your great help.
But will u pls let me know how it effects my health? what if i dont undergo any surgery? will it affect the other parts of my body or can it be cancerous?
is there any1 who can provide me with help. i have an appointment with my doctor after 3 days. but its difficult to wait for 3 long days. so it will be really helpful if any1 let me know what my report indicates. is there anything to worry?
I don't think you have reasons to worry.Your mammogram and Ultrasound is not alarming.
Mammary duct Ectasia is not a sign of or a risk factor for breast cancer. It occurs when a milk duct beneath your nipple becomes dilated, the duct walls thicken and the duct fills with fluid.
This benign condition usually improves without treatment. However, if your symptoms persist, your doctor may prescribe antibiotics or possibly recommend surgery to remove the affected milk duct.
You also have an enlarged lymph node in the axilla area and it doesn't mean it's something bad. This usually indicates infection or inflammation somewhere in the body as your radiologist stated on your report..
I am sure your doctor will be able to explain every thing to you in details.
All the best....
