Thank you. I did go have another mammogram, so I will find out. No, I don't squeeze it out. I wake up with a wet shirt, or my husband notices it. I will keep you posted.
Hi,
Bloody discharge from the nipple can be associated with many different conditions. Most often it could be an intraductal papilloma which is a noncancerous tumor or just fibrocystic changes. It rarely indicates cancer, nonetheless it's a possibility.
Empty sella syndrome is not a serious condition, but it could cause nipple discharge due to changes in the hormones normally produced by the gland, but I am not sure if the discharge could also be bloody.
If the blood is coming from just one duct,it is usually associated 9 times out of 10 with a benign papilloma and not caused by fibrocystic breast condition. If you are squeezing the nipple to check for discharge,I would advise you not to do so,because you could actually cause the discharge to persist.
Waiting six months for a recheck is not to long to wait, but if you are worried about it,I would suggest to consult a breast Surgeon /Specialist, because bloody nipple discharge,in my opinion, should be examined under the microscope to obtain a correct diagnosis. The odds are in your favor that is a benign process, but even with a very small chance of malignancy, if treated early it is entirely curable.
Best wishes...
