Breast asymmetry...

Hi,
i'm really concerned, i have breast asymmetry, there's a big noticeable difference between my 2 breasts. I was always thinking about having a surgery to have normal breasts, so i was concerned about the breastfeeding so i was looking if surgeries can affect the breastfeeding process but in my biggest surprise i've read that breadt asymmetry is a sign that maybe a cancer will be developed later....is that true? On my mother's side no on had cancer, just one woman but she's not a close relative, i'm really worried, i need a professional answer...please, and what you advice me to do? Should i have this surgery? Is it a sure sign for later cancer?
Thanks in advance,

When I went for my first mammogram I was told breast asymmetry is VERY common and it does NOT raise your risk for cancer.  If it is assymetric because you feel something or if the mature breast does start to get noticebly larger in a relatively short period of time you should get a mammogram.

Breast asymmetry doesn't mean that you will develop breast cancer in the future. The decision to have surgery is yours and yours alone. I suggest that you consult a Plastic Surgeon to discuss the risks and benefits of the surgery you are considering. I know of no effect that a breast reduction would have on breast feeding. An opinion from a Physician on a one to one basis is your best source of information when considering any type of surgery.    Regards ......
