I had FEC chemo (the epirubicin being equivalent to adriamycin). I was given dexamethasone by IV at the same time as the FEC infusions, and domperidone and granisetron to take home. I was advised to take the anti-emetics as prescribed, before I felt nauseous, and although I did have nausea, I had no vomiting. I was also prescribed Nystatin lozenges to hep with the thrush in my mouth. However, people do react differently to chemo, and as suggested by Cleveland Clinic response, the correct person to sort this out is your Mum's Oncologist.
Take care.
Liz.
Perhaps the doctor could give you Kytril IV and the by mouth the next morning.. That prescription helped me enormously. My only side effect from Kytril was horrid constipation.
take care
I took the Taxotere/Cytoxan chemo and did not have any vomiting. Just aching joints. Maybe she should ask to be switched to this.
Dear nika69: If your mother has had persistent vomiting despite the prescribed medication, her oncologist should be made aware. This is the correct person to make individual recommendations as he/she knows your mother and is best equipped to make safe suggestions.
