There are many different kinds of breast cancer (bc) as well. Some tumors are more fast growing and aggressive than others. Some feed of hormones and others do not. In about half of all diagnosed cases, there is no known family history of bc at all.
Cancer is a very tricky disease..sometimes one can have symptoms, like lumps..pain.etc...and it turns out to be nothing of real concern, and sometimes where there are no symptoms at all ,cancer is discovered by a routine mammogram.Nobody knows the cause of why some women have cancer and some don't.Many women overcome this bad disease only by being vigilant about their health, having regular mammograms (by the age of 40 and sooner if having a family history of breast cancer) and whatever other test is required to check abnormalities in the breast. If cancer is found ,surgery would be required followed by treatments and tests that are done routinely... and that's for life. Many cancer survivors live a very good and long life because they followed all the right steps to beat this dreadful disease.Best wishes.
Symptoms are primarily a lump in the breast found by examination. Screening mammograms are recommended yearly for women 40 and over; if there is a strong family history of BC even younger. If we knew what causes breast cancer there would be none ..... I don't know of any ways to overcome the disease other than being vigilant, doing monthly self exams, having regular mammograms when advised and always having anything new or different concerning the breast ck.d out by a Dr. Regards ....
