Femara and Elevated Alk Phos

My mother was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer over 5 years ago. She took Chemo, Radiation and tamoxifen. Her liver test post-Chemo have alwys been normal with the except of an elevated total bili (1.1 to 1.6 range). Her total bili has always been high even prior to the breast cancer. (She has been diagnosed with Gilbert's which accounts for the bilirubin elevation). About 3-6 months ago she was placed on Femara. Her Alkaline Phos was elevated on her most recent blood draw. Could this be attibuted to the Femara?

Wow!  I was surprised to read this message.  I have been on Femara for about 1 1/2 years and my Alk Phos was elevated on the last blood work as well.  I go again in September and am admittedly getting nervous.  The last reading was 106 (still within normal limits) but prior to that it was always in the 79-82 range for the last 7 years since my first bout with bc.  I haven't read of any connection with this and Femara but found it interesting that you mentioned it.

Dear Rae:  According to the prescribing information on Femara, there is no documented adverse affect of Femara on the alkaline phosphatase.
