Good News NO CANCER

Got my results of the biopsy today. NO CANCER.
Report says that I have fibrocystic disease.
Multiple core biopsies of breast (anterior mass) show fibrocystic changes with microfoci of intraductal papillomatosis and ductal hyperplasia. Occasional intraductal microcalcifications are noted.

Wonderful news! I am so happy for you ... I have also received good results from my biopsy today -- per my MD the preliminary report (will learn all details next Monday) states "no further atypia, no cancer"! I'll post the details when I learn them next week ...

For context, after the first mammo, results were suspicious due to microcalcification cluster (have never had this, only suspicious changing/growing lumps before). Only rated Birads 3 but history of 5 previous excisional biopsies between ages 20 and 43 for changing fibroadenomas, difficult to visualize dense breasts with fibrocystic breast disease, grandmother dead from metastatic breast cancer in her 50s, never pregnant and now age 46, and living in world epicenter of breast cancer (San Francisco Bay Area), prompted need for stereotactic core needle biopsy.

SCNB revealed columnar cell changes with flat epithelial atypia among other things. FEA is associated with DCIS and adjacent invasive cancer, which prompted need for surgical excisional biopsy -- wire-guided, since no lump to target this time...

I hope everyone can be so lucky! Bless you all and this Web site for the comfort and companionship during these stressful times.

I had a mammogram about a month ago. It show some microcalcifications. They wanted a magnified view. Did that and then they did a biopsy last Thursday. The mammogram showed a birad4.

Good news, and very happy for you. You can relief now. The stress is over, wow!

Is this based on the mammogram or ultrasound findings?  Biopsy order based on microcalcification or a lump?  what was the BIRADS score?
