Hard lump under nipple in male 27.

Hi.

My husband is 27 and very active a fit, about 5 months ago he developed a small lump under his left nipple, at the time he never mentioned it as he thought it would go away, it has got bigger and last week he showed me, its round in shape, right under the nipple, hard not painful and feel's quite flat he went to the doctor today who has refered him to a specialist. He has no history of cancer in his family and feel's fine in himself but I am so worried he has breast cancer I dont know how I am going to get through the next few week's. Any info would be great.

Hi.

Just to let you know, we ended up going private instead of waiting for the NHS. Thankfully turns out this is nothing to worry about doc took biopsy etc and all came back clear. Thank you for your help.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Dear Katiexx145,  Male breast cancer is rare, but one out of every 150 cases of breast cancer involves a man, usually in men over 60 years old.  It is impossible, over the internet without ability to further evaluate, to say for sure what this lump is.  This could represent many things and does not mean it is a cancer.  However, a persistant lump that is increasing in size is something that should be checked out - as he is now doing.
