I have 3 Lumps in my left breast

I'm female and about to turn 18 years old. I have 3 lumps in my left breast. One below the nipple, one above the nipple, and a smaller one that feels like it's connected to the one lump at the top. At first, even the slightest touch hurt my breast. It felt like a bruise when you push on it, but more painful than a bruise. When I don't even put any pressure on my breast, I can still feel a bit of the surfacing lump. It's been about three days since I first noticed the pain, but I just recently noticed the lumps tonight. It doesn't hurt AS much anymore but the lumps are still there and I'm very worried. I'm going to be getting myself a full physical and breast exam pretty soon, but hopefully I can get a heads up on here to see if everything will be okay. Thank you very much.

Hi there.

For your age group, the most common causes for these lumps are still benign in nature.  Fibroadenoma or fibrocystic diseases are the most common pathologies.  These represent an abnormal but benign reaction of the breast tissues in response to hormonal stimuli.

I agree with the physician consult and the breast evaluation.  Your doctors may just opt to observe these lumps in accordance with your menstrual cycle, or order specific tests such as mammogram or ultrasound.

Regards.
