Good for you .... please come back and add a comment when you get some results OR at anytime you have questions or concerns. We're always here to help in any way we can or just to listen. Best wishes .....
Thank you! I have an appointment for this Thursday, I'm just working myself up and trying not to think too much about it until then...
PLEASE make an appointment ASAP with either your Primary Care Physician OR a Breast Specialist for a clinical exam and other testing to define the nature of this lump. Pain is not usually associated with Breast Cancer but one should NEVER depend on what is usual and anything new and different involving the breast should always be investigated immediately. Kindest regards .....
Hi,
Without some type of testing, such as a mammogram, ultrasound, biopsy or surgical excision (if needed) it's impossible for anyone to tell exactly what this lump in your breast may represent.
All I can say is that the most common breast lumps, could be cysts or Fibroadenomas, (both benign). Of course cancer is always a possibility, but it's rarely the case when pain is involved. If it feels hard and immovable it doesn't prove malignancy, but a lump is a lump and some type of testing is always recommended, especially in older women, to make sure that cancer is ruled out..
Please call your Doctor for an appointment so you can find out the nature of this lump.
All the best and good luck!
There's also pain near the rib cage.
Thank you for any help, I'm really nervous.
