I had a tram flap in 2003 about a month post op I developed lymphedema. Now five years, later I am recovering (22 days ago) from emergency surgery due to a bowel obstruction. Six inches of my intestines were removed. I was told this was from scar tissue from prior abdominal surgery and there were what appeared to be surgical hooks (?) that the intestine wrapped around? Is the result of my tram flap? If so how come this is not listed as one of the complications. I suppose I knew I was always at risk for lympedema but this was life saving surgery. I would appreciate any information.
Thank You,
