Lump found after having my silicone implants removed

Hello People

Recently had my implants removed along with the hardened capsule that had formed around the implants.  My surgeon did not mention that he had found a lump but I now feel one on one of my breasts.  Do you think it will be part of the discharge of the capsule that has been left in but in that case why is it only in one of my breasts and not both???  Just wondering if anybody out there has had problems similar to mine

Thanks for that, this does seem quite a likely explanation but I have made an appointment with the doctor to make sure.  I was a little scared to be honest on the initial finding of the lump where you automatically think the worst but after calming down you start to put things into perspective.  Thanks again

Hi.
There will be some fibrosis in the area of the implants.  Perhaps this is the capsule that was seen and removed during the implant removal.
As for your question on the lump in one of your breasts, it could represent fibrosis secondary to wound healing and scarring.  However, there is also a possibility that this represents a new breast mass unrelated to the implant removal or the capsule left in the breast.  You should go back to your breast doctor for re-evaluation.
Take care.
